Picnics as a child were magical. Once a week, Mom would pack us in the car with a cooler, picnic basket, and big jug of Kool-Aid®. Of all the parks in San Diego county, my favorite was Eucalyptus park. Even today, the smell of eucalyptus oil takes me back to those hot summer days running through the winding trees, flying high on the swings, and eating hot dogs cooked outside, served on plates just like these.
I was thrilled to find these dishes recently at an estate sale. They look way better than I imagined they could after 50 years. If you’d like to bring back your childhood picnic memories, ordering this set on ebay would be a good start.
